Mother's Garden

Mother is envied by the neighbors
For the flowers she has grown;
They all say her garden
Is the loveliest they've known.
In early spring she will prepare
A fertile sunny spot.
How carefully she marks the rows
And plants the seeds she bought.

Her garden seems to thrive and grow
Beneath her tender care,
For it is watered with her love
And nourished with a prayer.
God answers her with sun and rain
And as the months go by,
The flowers bloom in radiant hues
Like rainbows in the sky.

Her prize bouquets are freely given
To those who chance to call...
But to the ill and lonely folks
She gives the best of all.
For brightening other people's lives
Is Mother's lifelong goal...
And the beauty of her flowers
Are reflected in her soul.
